4. Shipping and Delivery

Address Accuracy: Customers are solely responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery addresses. Orders shipped to incorrect addresses provided by the customer are not eligible for replacement or refund. Return, redelivery, or rerouting fees may apply.

Perishable Goods: To preserve quality, we recommend that someone be available to promptly receive and properly store any perishable items upon delivery. We cannot replace or refund perishable products that spoil after a successful delivery confirmation.

Processing & Delays: We strive to ship orders within 24 hours. However, delays may occur due to weather, carrier issues, or seasonal volume (e.g., Christmas, Easter). During peak periods, order cutoffs or blackout dates may apply.

Rescheduling: Changing a confirmed shipping date within 24 hours of dispatch will incur a $20 rescheduling fee.

Product Weight Variations: Meats are cut to order. While we aim for precision, slight variances in weight may occur due to the handcrafted nature of our products.

Risk of Loss: Risk transfers to the customer once the shipping carrier confirms delivery (e.g., marked “Delivered”). We are not liable for lost, damaged, or spoiled items after this point.

5. Returns and Refunds

At GermanFoodMarket.com, we are committed to delivering high-quality, authentic German goods. Please read our return policy carefully before placing your order.

a) Perishable Items

Due to food safety standards, we do not accept returns on perishable items (e.g., sausages, deli meats, cheeses, or baked goods).

If your order arrives damaged, spoiled, or incorrect, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery, including:

  • A written description of the issue
  • Photo evidence of product and packaging

Once reviewed, we may offer a refund or replacement at our discretion.

b) Non-Perishable Items

Returns on non-perishable items are accepted under the following conditions:

  • Items must be unopened, unused, and in original packaging
  • You must request a return authorization within 5 days of delivery
  • The return must be postmarked within 7 days of authorization
  • Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer (unless the item is defective or sent in error)

Once we inspect the returned item, a refund will be issued to the original payment method, minus any original shipping charges.

c) Incorrect Shipping Information

We are not responsible for delivery issues due to incorrect or incomplete addresses submitted by the customer. If a package is returned due to an address error:

The customer may be responsible for additional shipping costs to resend the order.

d) Product Condition After Delivery

Responsibility transfers to the customer once a shipment is confirmed as delivered. Refunds or replacements will not be issued for spoilage or damage due to:

  • Unattended deliveries
  • Heat exposure
  • Improper storage after delivery

We strongly recommend monitoring your tracking number and planning for prompt receipt—especially for perishable orders.

e) Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days.

Refunds are issued to the original method of payment. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or credit card provider.
